A protest was held at Global Chowk by the Anti-Canals Action Committee, attended by Madam Shaista Baloch, Syed Zain Shah, Nemat Khuhro, Faqir Inayat Buriro, Hafiz Abdul Haleem Memon, Hajan Mehr, and thousands of people.
Powerful slogans of “No to the Six Canals!” echoed throughout the gathering.
While addressing the crowd, the leaders rejected the construction of the six proposed canals originating from the Indus River, highlighting the devastating consequences for Sindh.
They warned that if the six canals are built, it would lead to severe water shortages, wiping out agriculture, human livelihoods, and even birds and wildlife — resulting in the collapse of all living beings.
